Eileen Reslen beams a confident smile as she speaks about her most recent promotion to assistant editor for the Boston University’s Daily Free Press. Reslen may look like your typical 19-year-old college girl with her dark brown hair neatly tied back into a pony tail but, she is certainly not the ordinary college student going out to party on a Friday night.
A student of the College of Communication at B.U., Reslen is pursuing a career in broadcast journalism. She said she never expected to end up in a city. Instead, she says she dreamed of the typical college experience with big green lawns and a neatly planned campus. She said growing up in North Bergen, N.J., only 10 minutes from New York City, she wanted a different experience.
“Boston is a city, but it’s also slow-paced. You still get good exposure to internships and news,” said Reslen. After a class fieldtrip to Boston during her sophomore year, she decided to come to B.U. for its environment, opportunities, and highly regarded communications program.
Reslen said she looks forward to practicing investigative journalism to fulfill her passion for storytelling.
You mention that she isn't a typical college student partying on a Friday night, but left me wondering what she does instead.
ReplyDeleteGood article. I liked your About Me section, too. It adds to the blog to see your experience/credentials.
ReplyDeleteI liked that you included the headline but it's sort of misleading. On the other hand, I really liked the "About Me!"
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your article--it gave me a good sense of her background as well as her plans for the future. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGood job! It's interesting that she wants to go into investigative journalism. Is that why she writes so many articles to the FreeP about robberies? :P
ReplyDeleteYou are putting so much thought into your blog. Very inspiring. Also Your sketch was great, kept my interest. I wished there was more!
ReplyDeleteI liked the headline for the sketch and great job on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteYou really captured her in this sketch, good job!
ReplyDeleteAha, is Eileen suggesting that the Freep steals your all your free time? :) Great sketch.
ReplyDeleteSae,
